A collaborative art, music, and storytelling project that began with a faint idea of putting on a production with my friend Emily… We were granted a studio space at the 821 Residency in Asheville, NC for the month of February so we banded together a group of art enthusiasts to create something that has never really been done before. Over the span of 5 months or so we put our heads together to create a big cohesive story about a girls journey to finding connection to her community. Some members of the group even wrote original songs for the production. Once February came along it was time to go to the studio and paint… and we painted non-stop… creating seemingly endless scrolls of enormous portrayals of the epic story to crank along while the story was read and songs were sung for the production. So many talented helping hands came together to make this project happen and we hope that it lives on to tell the tale of the beauty of community for years to come!
